. welcome to "mornings on 2." i'm dave clark. >> i'm tori campbell. it's wednesday, november 14th. pg&e crews continue to work at san francisco's city hall this morning. they've been there an south africaal -- an electrical explosion last night in the basement. claudine wong is live where it is expected to open to the public. will it be business as usual? >> reporter: we're told that city hall will open back up this morning. we have several pg&e trucks behind me. there's one next to me. if you come up here in the steps of city hall, you can see the lights are back on. they've been on since we arrived here this morning. generators are also on and they've -- at one point we thought we saw one them pop off. if we take a look over here, the generators are still right here at city hall. they've been busy all night making sure things are running inside. you see the tops of those generators? can see they are working hard and you can see the crews coming in and out of here. as far as when everything will be back to normal you, i can show you the scene last night, the problems really started l

. >>> all right, we will smile and say good morning to you, it is a thursday, november 8th, i am dave clark. >> and i am pam cook. we continue to follow developing news and it has been a long night out in the cold for hotel visitors and they have been forced outside of the embassy suite. tara moriarty has been talking with fire officials and guests. >>> fire hazmat crews have already left the scene. >> reporter: of course this was no ordinary overnight stay here for the people and firefighters were called out to the international airport and they called in hazmat and did some air samples and found high levels of carbon monoxide. within an hour they evacuated the building and hundreds of people staying here were just booked as they traced the problem that a faulty -- traced the problem that a faulty boiler. >> the equipment since that time has beenitis lasted and in the -- isolated and in that time we figured we were evacuate for the safety of the occupants. >> reporter: now fire crews tell us they were out here at the hotel actually last night around 6:30 and that's when then transported a
good morning to you. it is monday, november 12th, it is veterans day, i am dave clark. >>> it had to be shut down after a scary accident. allie rasmus has more on why the two people inside the car are lucky to be alive. >>> it is incredible to think two people were able to walk away unscathed. right here where you see a metal guardrail southbound concrete barrier over there on the left, a driver crashed through it, fell off the bridge and his car landed completely upside down in the far right lane of interstate 880. they arrested the driver on suspicion of drunk driving. he was not injured. his passenger also was not injured and decided not to go to the hospital this morning. this happened around midnight and they worked to prepare a section which completely collapsed and police are investigating the exact circumstances of how this happened. they believe the driver was coming south -- excuse me westbound on 880, had exited the freeway tried to make a left-hand turn and then crashed into the concrete barrier. by about 4:00 a.m., they finished their repair work and this should not

am dave clark. >> time now 6:30, we have breaking news in daily city. some streets are flooded, they are filled with mud and right now dozens have been evacuated. tara moriarty is live where the details are of all the damage and what caused this, tara? >> there are a row of homes where tons of mud and water have come racing down. if you take a look behind me, you can see the mess in the middle of the street. 2 dozen people had to be evacuated and those are four very long street blocks. that is how far the water traveled from. ktvu channel 2 morning news was the first news crew to arrive on scene and it appears there was some sort of leak bursting at the hillside park near the basketball courts. we were able to grab dramatic pictures of the water gushing down the hillside. crews now have it under control and neighbors are just shaking their heads at this mess. >> my whole driveway is covered with mud and stuff and you know if it continues the mud can go all the way up to here. >> they say some trees have actually fallen off the hillside and car tires are stuck in the mud. again

. welcome to "mornings on 2." i'm dave clark. >> i'm tori campbell. it's thursday, november 8th. >>> everything is back to normal at a burlington hotel that had a carbon monoxide overnight. ktvu channel 2 reporter tara moriarty is live at the embassy suites. this is a pretty big hazmat response that affected a lot of people. tara? >> reporter: that's right. this is very close to the airport. the hotel was booked. a lot of people had flights so you can imagine that they were nervous about making them on time. behind me you can see a lot of windows are still open at the top of the hotel right there. these people got a 1:30 a.m. wakeup call that they did not expect. they were stuck out in the cold for for hours. that's because firefighters responded to a call here after midnight. crews called in hazmat, did some air sampling. and within an hour, they evacuated the building. hundreds of guests were staying here, again, the hotel booked. and the trace was a faulty boiler. >> they did an air sampling and found there was a high level of carbon monoxide. so at that point be they called
on 2." i'm dave clark. >> good morning. i'm tori campbell. it's friday, november 9th. >>> we're on -- stormwatch this friday morning. the loud sound of hail, thunder and lightning may have caused you some sleep early this morning. our ktvu news crew took the pictures of the marble-sized hail falling in the east bay, something you would expect to see driving up to tahoe. our photographer took this on 880 in milpitas a few hours ago and there's slick highways everywhere you look in the bay area. so you should be especially careful heading to work. >>> the chp spent hours cleaning up a traffic mess. on 880 in fremont. it was a bad crash that sent one man to the hospital with severe injuries. tara moriarty is in fremont where things are getting better out there. it was pretty bad out there? >> reporter: yes, it was. the good news, it's no longer raining. the road seems drive. we're here on 880 northbound. this is near the mission boulevard exit. this crash is a good reminder why you need to slow down. around 2:00 in the morning, the chp says the rain-slicked roads played a big fa
to "mornings on 2." i'm dave clark. >> i'm tori campbell. it's monday, november 12th. >>> an east bay woman is making -- made a shocking discovery on 10th street in union city. janine de la vega is live on the scene with more. >> reporter: good morning, tori. that's because a man was found in a trash can. family and friends are grieving him this morning. they are too shaken up to speak on camera. but they've set up candles here to honor his memory. police were called here on 10th street after a woman taking out her trash found an unconsciousman inside. they recognize him t was their family friend who stayed on and off at -- him t was their family friend who stay -- him. it was their family friend who stayed with him from time to time. they say at the hospital, it was determined there was alcohol in his system and they also say he did suffer from medical issues and had an ulcer. police say he didn't have any injuries on his body but they are investigating. again, back out here live, the body was found in a trash can like the one you are looking at. but the woman says that a second crash can
right now. >>> welcome to "mornings on 2." i'm dave clark. >> i'm tori dam -- i'm tori campbell. >>> we're tracking daly city flooding. tara moriarty is live on the scene. good morning, tara. >> reporter: good morning. you know, the damage here is pretty incredible. if you take a look behind me here, you can see where the mud and the water ended but it began all the way up the hill where those trees are and this entire neighborhood is just basically -- has mud all over the streets. about two dozen people had to be evacuated off bonnie street. the mud swept down the street. deputy was the first news -- ktvu was the first news crew to arrive on the scene. we saw the water mixed with the mud gushing down the hillside. the brake happening off luzane avenue and bonnie street. crews have it under control. the water has stopped racing down the hill. we spoke to the neighbor who called 911 initial. he said it was scary -- initially. he stayed was scary initially. >> the entire lawn was covered. there was a stream going down the street. i went downstairs and i got on my cell phone and called 911
